Beginner Ballet

Frequently Asked Questions
What should my child wear to dance class?
All students should come to class on time, prepared and dressed properly.
Ballet: Leotard of choice, tights, and ballet shoes. A skirt or shorts may be worn. No pants. Hair should be pulled into a slick ponytail or bun.
Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Acrobatics:
Leotard of choice, slim fit tee or tank. Tights or slim-fit pants or shorts may be worn. Jazz or Tap shoes. Hair in a slick ponytail or bun.
No jewelry of any kind should be worn! Cell Phones or Parents are not allowed in the dance room.
Please do not come to class in street clothes! No blue jeans or blue jean shorts are acceptable for dance class. Students will be asked to leave class if not dressed appropriately.
When can my child start dancing?
We accept students ages 3 and over who are potty trained. We offer fall enrollment in August, Spring enrollment in January and Summer enrollment in June.
Where can I find dancewear for my child?
You can enquire about dancewear through Mrs. Tabatha or any TDC staff, or you can purchase class attire on your own.
What does the process for the competition team look like?
Competition Teams are by teacher placement.
Mrs.Tabatha or a TDC staff member will invite you to our auditions. We will place you where we feel you will excel. Auditions are held in June prior to the upcoming competition season. We ask that you have taken at least 2 years of recreational dance before auditioning for our competition teams.
